Edmond

A community of Oklahoma firsts.

Our story is Oklahoma’s story.

The City of Edmond was created as a water stop on the Santa Fe Railroad prior to the Run of ’89.  Railroad traffic heightened economic activity which led the prospering community to be top of the list of firsts, such as the first permanent church building structure, first newspaper (which still exists to this day), and the first institution of higher education. Now home to two universities and a thriving public-school system, Edmond has many notable hometown heroes, such as Shannon Miller, a decorated Olympic gymnast.
