El Reno

A diverse economic playground.

Our story is Oklahoma’s story.

The community of El Reno was originally named after nearby Fort Reno. To make it easy on early postmasters, the prefix of “El” was included in the city’s name in order to keep confusion for local newly minted “Reno City” at a minimum. A railroad path and a centralized location allowed El Reno to flourish in a variety of economic areas. When Historic Route 66 was established, El Reno’s central location became an attractive place for commuters, vacationers, and tourists alike.
