Mustang

Agricultural hub turns bedroom community.

Our story is Oklahoma’s story.

Mustang was established by former Oklahoma City Mayor Charles Jones along the rail line between OKC and Chickasha. Agriculture was the dominant economic driver of Mustang during the first half of the 20th century, with the area producing grains (oats, corn, and wheat), cotton, melons, sweet potatoes, and cotton. In the 1940s, dairy and beef supplanted produce, and the 1960s brought the beginning of Mustang as we know it today – a thriving bedroom community with continuous, blossoming growth.
