Our story is Oklahoma’s story.
In the late 1800s, railroad dispatcher Henry "Big Foot" Wagoner reported a need for a switch; once installed, it came to be known as “Wagoner’s Switch.” In 1896, when the first incorporated town in Indian Territory sprung up nearby, it kept the name. With fertile ground bounded by the Grand, Verdigris and Arkansas rivers, Wagoner boomed.
