Roughnecks of Sherwood Forest

S1 Episode 65

By the summer of 1942, Great Britain was in dire straits. The outcome of World War II depended on imported petroleum supplies and oil, but German U-boats ruled the Atlantic. Prime Minister Winston Churchill had an ace in the hole: 44 Oklahoma oil patch warriors dressed in cowboy boots who crossed the Atlantic and helped save the world, and the story began on Lloyd Noble's porch in Ardmore. As we celebrate Veterans Day this week, join us in Ardmore for the true story of the "Roughnecks of Sherwood Forest."
