Lawton
Flourishing beyond the fort.
Our story is Oklahoma’s story.
Lawton may have started in a land lottery like many other Oklahoma cities, but its history has encompassed much more than that. Military activity dating back to Fort Sill’s establishment in 1869, contributed to Lawton becoming one of the largest communities in southwestern Oklahoma. Fort Sill remains one driving force behind the growth and vitality of this city. Add a nexus of highways near the town, as well as Cameron University, and you have vibrant, stalwart community.
