The Wolf Man, the Mummy, Frankenstein and Dracula: the fearsome foursome of the classic Universal horror film era were all born in Oklahoma City, on the same day, more than a century ago. Born to famous character actor Lon Chaney in 1906, Creighton Tull Chaney, later known as Lon Chaney Jr., landed his big Hollywood break after being cast as Lennie in "Of Mice and Men". The next year, Universal Studios signed him to a contract. Using his father's movie makeup kit, Chaney Jr. created some of the most iconic horror movie characters in film history. This week on LoyalTV, join us in Oklahoma City as we trace the four-decade career of the creature feature legend.
